Debitum onboarding improved: Easier identity verification
Identity verification is one of the most important parts of becoming an investor on Debitum.
To make the experience smoother, we’ve redesigned the identity verification journey.
Before verification begins, you’ll now see a short introduction explaining:
- which documents you’ll need,
- that a selfie is required,
- what the verification process looks like,
- approximately how long it takes (usually about 5 minutes).
This helps you prepare before starting and reduces unnecessary interruptions.
Mobile-first verification
Most investors complete identity verification using their phone.
That’s why identity verification now defaults to a mobile experience, making document scanning and selfie verification easier.
If you begin on your computer, simply scan the QR code to continue on your mobile device.
Fewer interruptions
We’ve also removed one repetitive consent screen within our identity verification provider.
This does not change any legal consent requirements.
Instead, it simply removes an unnecessary step to create a smoother experience for every new investor, while the platform continues to comply with strict regulatory requirements

To help avoid delays, we advise you to:
- use a valid identity document,
- make sure all document corners are visible,
- avoid blurry photos or reflections,
- take a live selfie in good lighting.
Providing clear images with all information visible helps our verification partner review your documents more quickly and efficiently.
