€200 million invested at Debitum: what this milestone says about investor trust

In September 2024, Debitum reached €100 million invested.
Now, in May 2026, we have surpassed €200 million.

Behind these investments are businesses acquiring forest properties, agricultural land and other productive assets. At the same time, investors continue earning fixed-term returns backed by real economic activity and collateral structures. The milestone reflects growing investor demand for investments that feel more transparent, structured and connected to the real economy.

For many Western European investors – especially in Germany, which currently represents more than 30% of Debitum investor base – regulation and security remain among the most important factors when choosing where to invest. This has also been emphasized by Debitum owner Ingus Salmiņš in his interview with “Dienas Bizness”.

Debitum is licensed under MiFID II and supervised by the Bank of Latvia. This means operating under high requirements regarding risk management, compliance procedures and investor protection.

Why more investors are choosing business loan investments?

Investor trust is also closely connected to Debitum business model – investments in business loans backed by real economic activity.

Debitum works with financing partners developing growing businesses across sectors such as forestry, agricultural land and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). These businesses generate predictable cash flow and long-term economic value, helping provide returns for investors. Behind every investment are companies acquiring assets, expanding operations and building real businesses. An equally important aspect is collateral. Investments on Debitum are secured by commercial pledges on the issuer’s assets.

We see that more investors are looking for:

  • predictable returns with a fixed term, with current target returns on Debitum reaching up to 15% p.a.,
  • investments connected to real economic activity,
  • regulated investment platforms (Debitum operating under MiFID II).

Platform growth in numbers

Behind the €200 million milestone are growing businesses, real assets and completed repayment cycles.
Some key numbers behind the platform today.

  • €200 million total invested.
  • €65 million outstanding investments.
  • 32 800+ registered investors.
  • €12.7 million paid out in interest to investors since launch.
  • Since launch, Debitum has listed 8287 assets.
  • 0% default rate.
  • Sandbox Funding has financed 10 financing partners with a cumulative loan volume of €33.2 million, most of which has already been repaid.
  • Debitum financing partners continue to demonstrate real business activity behind the investments. For example, during 2025, LFDF secured 6430 hectares across 659 forest properties, according to LFDF audited 2025 results.
  • At the same time, financing partners such as Bono House, Juno Finance and Foresto have already fully repaid their obligations to investors over time. This demonstrates the full investment cycle in practice – from funding to repayment.

The platform growth also reflects continued trust from existing investors who keep reinvesting through Debitum over the long term.

Looking ahead

The focus moving forward remains clear:

  • expanding across more European markets,
  • increasing diversification opportunities,
  • improving investor experience,
  • continuing to work with reliable financing partners,
  • strengthening the connection between investors and real businesses.
