Debitum onboarding improved: Faster account registration

Debitum smoother onboarding -faster registration - email signup improvements on a laptop screen

Getting started on Debitum now takes fewer steps.

We’ve simplified the registration process for individual investors so you can create your account with only:

  • email address,
  • password,
  • acceptance of the Terms and Conditions.

That’s it.

Personal information is collected later during identity verification, where it is automatically read from your identity document. This means less manual typing and fewer opportunities for mistakes.

A smoother start

We’ve also improved the guidance after email verification.

Once you verify your email address, you are automatically signed in and taken directly to the next onboarding step.

This means you get to explore the platform or continue onboarding without logging in again.

To make it even more seamless for investors, you will also see a banner guiding you to the next onboarding step, so you can easily understand the whole process.

If your email has not yet been verified, you’ll see a reminder inside your account so you always know what to do next.

What happens after registration?

Creating your account is only the first step.

To begin investing, you’ll complete:

  • Email verification
Confirms that you own the email address connected to your account and allows Debitum to send important account-related information.
  • Identity verification (IDV)
Confirms your identity and helps protect your account against fraud and misuse. This verification step has been optimized to become even more intuitive, and we’ll tell you more about it in the next article on our blog.
  • Know Your Customer Questionnaire(KYC)
Collects information required for due diligence and helps Debitum meet its regulatory obligations, as it operates under the supervision of the Bank of Latvia and follows European Union regulatory standards. The amount of information to submit through KYC has also been reduced to make this onboarding step even faster.
  • Suitability and Appropriateness Questionnaire (SAQ)
Helps determine whether Debitum’s investment services are appropriate for your investment knowledge and experience.

Why this matters to Debitum investors?

Each step has a purpose, helping keep the platform secure while making the onboarding process as straightforward as possible.

With these new improvements, individual investors will experience a faster onboarding process, fewer fields to fill during the initial account creation and clearer guidance on what happens next.
