Industry top leader Edgars Birks appointed CEO to drive LFDF’s portfolio growth

The Latvian Forest Development Fund (LFDF) has appointed Edgars Birks as CEO, marking the beginning of an ambitious new growth phase.

With more than a decade of experience in forestry and investment management, Edgars has been instrumental in building Latvia’s third-largest private forest portfolio – over 50 000 hectares. A major portion of his professional background stems from close collaboration with SCA – Europe’s largest private forest owner, managing 2.7 million hectares and backed by more than 100 years of expertise in forestry investment and management.

Why does it matter to you as an investor?
  • The LFDF is committed to ambitious growth.
  • The fund is focusing on high-return goals while safeguarding long-term forest value.
  • LFDF is well-positioned to seize market opportunities and set new standards for forestry investment in the Baltics.

Edgars shared his vision:

“I see LFDF as a unique opportunity to unite sustainable forest management with high-return investment goals. My career has taught me that a truly successful fund is built not only on strong financial results but also on creating lasting value through the preservation of natural resources. LFDF’s team has the energy, expertise, and commitment needed to become a market leader in the Baltics – and I am ready to turn that ambition into reality.”

Debitum Investments team is eager to cooperate with Edgars because this marks a powerful new phase for our partner LFDF: combining stability with growth potential and ensuring that your capital works not only for profit but also for purpose.
